Resiliency During the COVID-19 Pandemic

Having a balance helped me stay resilient during the COVID-19 pandemic. With the transition to virtual classes, it was easy to stay logged in / doing school work from start to finish of each day. The natural breaks where you leave campus weren’t happening anymore. It has been important for me to make time for activities that I enjoy every day, even if it’s just an hour. I don’t compromise on this. Another thing that has helped me is our return to clinical. Having patient interaction is incredibly motivating. I am grateful that our school did everything they could to get us back in clinical as soon as possible, because it’s the patients that really help to remind me why I am here working towards my goal of becoming a nurse.

Hi Jessica:

Thanks for joining our conversation. I need to take some lessons from you about working from home! How do/did you find the discipline to take an hour each day?
