Nursing Student during a Pandemic

To help me get through the pandemic, I focused a lot on self-care and my own personal growth. I do believe these skills would be most fruitful in my future career as a bedside nurse. The hours are long, and learning to find time to care for yourself outside of others (especially patients) can be a struggle. As an accelerated MSN student, I do find it hard to step away from the books and relax. So whenever I do start to feel overwhelmed by the amount of studying/completing assignments by deadlines, I make time to cook and practice mindful eating.

HI Vickie:

Thanks for joining our conversation. Are there ways you think nursing school might be able to help you and other students develop coping mechanisms to handle stress now in a way that might carry over to help you handle stress when you're a practicing nurse?

Hello! When I feel like I lose focus in certain tasks, that's when I realize I need to take a moment for myself.
