Having clinical sites limited with COVID, we had to create more remote simulations. So this semester we partnered with Living Legacy to do a virtual Simulation on Communication with our Junior (Fundamental) nursing students. Although Living Legacy deal with organ donation, they also partner in varying scenarios. Rather, we had their standardized participants act as family members, while our students had to communicate to them via remote technology. It was quite amazing and the learning outcomes are profound. Also, we used grant funding for this. So truly a win win for all.

Hi Helena:

Thanks for joining our conversation.

I'm curious about what worries your students have now? As they watch the news and see the risks front line nurses are taking just by caring for their patients, how is that affecting them? And how do you support them? How do you teach them to be resilient?
